As part of my election campaign for Jacksons Hill Ward, I am making the commitment to accelerate the delivery of a second indoor sports stadium in Sunbury. With the Hume region's population projected to grow rapidly, it is estimated that by 2041, an additional 22 multi-purpose competition indoor sports courts will be needed across the region. Most critically, 15 of these courts will be required by 2031. The time for action is now. Our community is at risk of being left behind if we do not address this pressing need. The new stadium will be strategically located in Sunbury’s growth corridor, providing vital facilities for basketball, netball, badminton, pickleball, and table tennis.
