Enhancing Community Wellbeing through Upgraded Aquatic Facilities

As part of my commitment to the Jacksons Hill Ward, I am proud to announce my election pledge to secure significant upgrades to the Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre. This initiative is central to my vision for a healthier and more active Sunbury.

The Master-plan process, which I successfully secured and funded in my current term, has laid the groundwork for these essential upgrades. My commitment includes delivering:

  • An all-year indoor 50-meter swimming pool.
  • Expanded capacity for swimming lessons.
  • More facilities for recovery sessions.
  • Additional water play space for children.
  • Increased lanes for lap swimmers.

As we prepare for the significant growth expected in Sunbury over the coming years, there is work to do to ensure that our community has the aquatic, leisure, and learning facilities we all deserve. These upgrades are not only about enhancing our current amenities but also about future-proofing our community as we enter this new phase of growth.

These upgrades will not only enhance the facilities but also provide more opportunities for residents to engage in health and wellness activities. I believe in investing in our community's future, and these improvements are a crucial step in that direction.

As part of my commitment to the safety, inclusivity, and well-being of families in Jacksons Hill Ward and across Hume City, I am advocating for the establishment of an accessible and fenced playgrounds program. This initiative will begin in Sunbury and expand across Hume City, ensuring that our public play spaces are secure, welcoming, and supportive of all children, including those with disabilities.
